Windjam is a progressive, future-focused, privately-owned company that is at the cutting edge of its industry. Windjam's high level of integrity and dedication have made the company one of the most respected leaders among NC developers.

Rex Vick, Jr. and Craig Glass met nine years ago and immediately recognized the similarities in their entrepreneurial styles. With a fresh approach to land development, Rex and Craig quickly found success working together to establish Windjam Development Group in 2003. Their mutual understanding of the needs of the homebuilder and a comprehensive background in sales and marketing establish a strong foundation for solid stewardship in land development. Windjam's strong capital reserves have allowed it to achieve an estimated build-out in excess of $170 million in its portfolio within just a few years. Whether single family subdivisions, or large master planned communities, Windjam's development team possesses the expertise to land plan quality projects.

EXECUTIVE TEAM

REX VICK, Jr.
CEO
(rvick@windjamdevelopment.com)

Rex Vick, Jr. graduated from the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School (Chapel Hill, NC) in 1993 with an emphasis in real estate followed by an advanced degree in mortgage banking in College Park, MD. Obtaining his real estate broker’s license in 1991 before graduating from Carolina established his interest in real estate transactions. He immediately entered the world of financing post-graduation, filling executive positions in three large national banks in North Carolina in his first five years out of school. During this time, he worked on large credit exposures, which included large planned developments and presented them for approval to the Bank’s board. In addition, he issued numerous construction lines of credit to some of the Triangle’s most respected homebuilders. It was through these credit extensions that he fostered long lasting personal and professional relationships with the area’s reputable builders, whom continue to build in Windjam’s communities. In the past eight years, Rex founded a mortgage lending operation, a building company, a builder marketing company, and has invested in various regional golf courses. Because he was born and raised in Wilson, North Carolina, and has lived in the Triangle since 1989, he feels a special attachment to the area and its growth. Rex is committed to Windjam as a “developer of the Carolinas.” His background and contacts with local government agencies and community planners allow Windjam to resolve challenging development issues and specialize in developing premium communities.
